First-Class Traditional Ruler Kidnapped In Kogi

On Friday, the Police Command in Kogi confirmed the kidnap of a first-class traditional ruler, Shaibu Usman.

In an effort to rescue the traditional ruler, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Ede, stated that the police have cordoned all entry and exit points into the state.

Usman is currently the acting Eje of Ankpa, in Ankpa Local Government Area of the state.

The CP stated that the kidnappers zoomed off with the traditional ruler at about 5:30 am on Friday while at the Mosque to observe his early morning prayers.

Kogi State Information and Communications Commissioner, Kingsley Fanwo also confirmed that all hands are on deck to ensure that the traditional ruler is rescued safely.

Fanwo said “The State Government is working with security agencies to ensure his release. The Kogi State Government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.

“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as the government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to the security of lives and property.”

Usman abductors are yet to make any contact with the family.
