Aisha Buhari, the First Lady of Nigeria has secured employment in the Federal Civil Service for two persons living with disability.
The lucky beneficiaries, Onogberie Efe Lulu and Nuruddeen Tahir who are both ex-corps members, received the kind gesture courtesy of the Director-General of the National Youth Services Corps (NYSC), Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim's advocacy in the area of corps members welfare.
In a statement signed by the NYSC Deputy Director of Press and Public Relations, Emeka Mgbemena said both corps members were handed their letters of employment in the DG's office.
They were both employed by Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.
According to PUNCH, the Director-General thanked the First Lady for her interest in the success of NYSC and the welfare of corps members.
He added that her latest gesture would motivate the beneficiaries to render dedicated service to the nation as well as motivate other physically challenged youths that Nigeria is willing to grant them the opportunity to realize their potentials.
The delighted recipients, Lulu and Tahir, appreciated the First Lady for her kind deed and prayed to God to reward her.
They also expressed their gratitude to the NYSC Director-General for his unwavering commitment to their welfare, noting that he has always been a source of motivation to them.
Lulu and Tahir also promised that they would utilise the opportunity given to serve Nigeria.
