The Kebbi State Urban Development Authority (KSUDA) has warned against dumping refuse on drainages to avoid flood in the state.

The General Manager of the agency, Malam Aliyu Umar, gave the warning while chatting with newsmen in his office.

Umar said before the commencement of the rainy season, the agency had opened up all drainages in major cities across the state for easy water flow.

He further stated that the agency is used to evacuating refuse at every refuse site across the state. He also added that the agency prioritizes actions on flood risk zones.

Umar further explained that the agency contracts people of the communities to open up drainages themselves. He commended the public for obeying the construction law.

He also stated that the agency is happy with people's actions of submitting building plans and getting permission before commencing the project.
