Flood: Kuri Town Cries To Gombe Governor For Help

Following devastating effects of flood in Kuri Town of Yamaltu Deba LGA of ​​Gombe State, the people have appealed to the state government to come to their aid.

They appealed to the Government to send emergency workers to build waterways due to flood that has destroyed houses and farmlands in the community.

This was made known by the Chairman of Kuri Global Network, a community development group, Ahmad Muhammad Sa'ad.

Sa'ad made the appeal on behalf of the people at a community work to dig waterways to reduce the effects of floods on the area.

The Chief Imam of kuri town, Malam Adamu Muhammad, said the main purpose of the community project was to build drainages and provide channels for easy flow of water.

He also appealed that concerned authorities should do the needful and save their houses and farmlands from further distruction by flood.

Sa'ad further stated that the community had done its best to rehabilitate the water ways but it was not enough.

Explaining further, he said more than 150 houses had been flooded in the town in recent days, resulting in the loss of property and crops.

He further appealed to the state government and members representing Kuri community in the State and National Assemblies to come to their aid.
