Flood: NEMA, SEMA Revisit Kano Vulnerables With Aid

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has distributed relief materials to vulnerable persons in Dawakin kudu local government.

SEMA's PRO Ahmed Isa in a statement to newsmen on Thursday said distributing the food items the Executive secretary of SEMA Alh. Saleh Aliyu Jili said a total of one thousand eight hundred bags of maize, millets and G/corn was distributed to twenty local government in the state to aid those in hardships.

Jili, who was represented by the Director special services, Hassan Imam Hassan added that there would be distribution of high grade seeds from Hadejia Jama'are River Basin Development Authority free to farmers in ten local governments of the state.

He said the beneficiaries would be mostly farmer's affected by flood.

On his part, representative of the zonal co-ordinator of NEMA, Abdulhadi Tukur expressed satisfaction with the distribution arrangement and appealed to the beneficiaries to ensure proper used of the items.

While speaking, the vice chairman of Dawakin kudu local government, Yakubu Musa Naira  thanked federal and state governments for their continued assistance to the area adding that this is the third time of such assistances.
