Floods: One Killed, Four Missing In Southeastern Turkey

Heavy rains in Turkey since late Tuesday have wreaked havoc, resulting in deaths, and leaving homes, hospitals and businesses inundated.

One person was killed in the floods and four others went missing in the Tut district of Adıyaman.

Governor Numan Hatipoğlu announced on Wednesday that heavy rain also flooded the intensive care unit at Şanlıurfa Eyyübiye Training and Research Hospital.

He added that the patients in the hospital have been transferred to another hospital.

Schools in Şanlıurfa were also cancelled on Wednesday due to the floods which are expected to continue throughout the day.

The Turkish State Meteorological Service (TSMS) published its weather forecast report for March 14-20 and issued an orange code warning for the southeastern regions of the country.
