Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has commended the Flying Eagles despite their exit from the FIFA U-20 World Cup on Sunday.
The Flying Eagles were beaten 1-0 by South Korea to deny Nigeria a spot in the semi-finals of the tournament.
Choi Seok-hyeon netted the winner in extra time to end the Eagles' hopes of winning a first-ever U-20 World Cup title.
Reacting to their defeat, Peseiro encouraged Ladan Bosso's men to be proud of their performance, insisting that they did the nation proud.
“Heads up, Flying Eagles!” Peseiro wrote on Twitter.
“What you have shown in this world cup makes Nigerian people proud.
"They fought and honored to the end and earned a place among the top 8 teams in the World.“

Although the Flying Eagles failed to reach the semi-finals, their performances in the run to the quarter-finals were impressive.
Against all odds, they recorded famous wins against Italy in the group stage and hosts Argentina in the round of 16.
Meanwhile, the four countries that moved into the semi-finals of the tournament are Italy, South Korea, Israel and Uruguay.
