Ahead of the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, the flying eagles are expected to camp in Morocco rather than Spain for the last phase of their preparations.
This decision was reached by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who cited reasons that Moroocco has similar weather conditions with Egypt.
According to a top NFF official who spoke to SCORENigeria, "The team will train in Morocco, which has similar weather with Egypt, which at the moment is very cold and the team need to get used to this in time for the tournament."
The Flying Eagles is expected to leave for Morocco at the end of January, however the second phase of their preparation will begin in Abuja today.
Ladan Bosso’s side, who are seven-time champions, are drawn in Group A alongsid hosts Egypt, Mozambique and Senegal.
The Flying Eagle's opening game in the tourney will be against Senegal on February 19 at the Cairo International Stadium.
The 2023 U-20 AFCON will hold from February 19 to March 11.
