Focus On Electoral Reforms - Group To National Assembly

Groups under the umbrella of the Coalition in Defence of Nigerian Democracy and Constitution have urged the National Assembly to make electoral reforms a priority so that the violent events during the 2019 elections will not repeat themselves, as many of the elections were proclaimed null and void by the courts.

This prompt happened in Abuja, at a news conference. According to the co-coordinator of the groups, Mr. Ariyo Dare-Atoye, instead of the two main oppositions, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People Democratic Party (PDP) to keep pointing accusatory fingers at each other, they should marshal their members in the National Assembly and make a reform quickly.

The call by the group follows the recent court cases that came after the 2019 elections that saw many candidates disqualified for varying reasons.
