Former Army Chief Installs Jagunmolu Saki

Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Tukur Buratai, former Chief of Army Staff has been installed as the Jagunmolu of Saki land.

This title was bestowed on General Buratai (rtd,) who is Nigeria's Ambassador to Benin Republic by the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi, conferred the honorary chieftaincy on him on Saturday in Saki.

While appreciating the Okere of Saki, Oba Olabisi for honouring him based on what he has done for the country while in service, Buratai revealed that the conferment of the traditional title on him in Saki was a sign of unity in Nigeria.

He added such gesture must be emulated by all Nigerians, irrespective of religion or tribe, to ensure mutual coexistence and development of Nigeria.

“If there is unity, there will be unity of purpose for the development and progress of the country and the future of the country will be good.

He called on Nigerians to continue to support the Nigerian Army in performing its constitutional role.

Another retired Lieutenant General, Lamidi Adeosun was installed as the Akinrogun of Saki land.
