Former Chelsea boss Conte interested in Napoli coaching job

Italian sports journalist Matteo Moretto in his column for Cughtoffside.com has revealed that former Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan head coach Antonio Conte hopes to coach dethroned Serie A club champions, Napoli, but talks with Victor Osimhen's club are not at an advanced stage.

Conte, currently without a club since leaving Spurs in acrimonious circumstances, has emerged as one of the main candidates to become the Napoli boss in 2024-25, and according to a report of RAI from last week, the two parties had reached a verbal agreement over a three-year deal.

Football Italia transfer pundit Matteo Moretto has told Caught Offside’s Daily Briefing that negotiations between the ex-Tottenham and Chelsea boss and the Partenopei are not at an advanced stage.

The Italian transfer expert reiterated that Conte wants to coach a Serie A club next season primarily due to family reasons, but as of Monday, he is not in advanced talks with Napoli or any other Italian club.

Moretto confirms Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is considering other candidates as well. Recent reports in Italy have linked the Partenopei with Milan boss Stefano Pioli and Atalanta‘s Gian Piero Gasperini.

Should Conte get the job, he may not have the chance t o coach Victor Osimhen who is expected to depart the club in the summer.Former
