Former Exxon Mobile Worker Jailed 15 Years For Raping Minor

A former Exxon Mobile engineer, James Onuoha, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for raping a 14-year-old niece of his tenant. 

Onuoha 42, was arraigned by in January 2016 by the Lagos State Government, on a four-count charge of defilement.

Onuoha was indicted by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). 

According to the Prosecutor, Dr. Jide Martins, Onuoha committed the offences on January 4, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., at 25, Samuel Amoore Street, Idowu Estate, Ike-Ira Nla, Ajah, Lagos. 

The offences contravened Sections 134 (2), 135 (1), and is punishable under Sections 137 and 258 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The convict, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges. 

Justice Adedayo Akintoye of the Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere on Monday jailed him without an option of fine.
