Former IGP Balogun Buried In Hometown

Tafa Balogun, the former Inspector General of Police has been buried in his hometown on Saturday.

Balogun was buried in accordance with Islamic rites in Ila-Orangun.

The Osun State Commissioner of Police, Olawale Olokode represented the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman was present at the event.

Representatives of Osun State government were also among the sympathisers at the event.

The former IGP died on Thursday, August 4, 2022, a few days to his 75th birthday.

Balogun was born on August 8, 1947, and was appointed the 21st Inspector-General of Police on March 6, 2002 and the second after return to civil rule after Musiliu Smith.

He served as Inspector-General of Police between 2002 and 2005.
