Former Minister, Aminu Wali Acquitted Of Corruption Charges

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aminu Wali who was accused of receiving N950 campaign funds from the People Democratic Party (PDP) during the 2015 presidential election has been discharged and acquitted by the Federal High Court in Kano.

AllNews gathered that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) prosecuted Aminu Wali and Mansur Ahmed on three-count charges of corruption.

The anti-graft agency accused both of them of receiving illicit campaign funds from PDP in 2015, an act that contravened Section 1 of the Money Laundering Provision Act 2011.

However, Judge Lewis Allagoa while delivering judgment on Friday said the prosecution failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

He therefore discharged and acquitted the defendants.
