The former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state, Victor Bala Kona has refused to turn up for the party's guber primary election.
This was announced at the venue of the election by the chairman of the electoral committee in the state, Kabir Bappa Jauro.
The former chairman has not made available reasons for his absence from the exercise.
Jauro stated that there were six other aspirants for the primary election.
The six aspirants are Jerome Nyame, Ayuba Kotolo, Lieutenant Colonel Agbu Kefas, Hilkiah Buba-Joda, Joel Ikenya and Joseph Kunini.
Jauro further stated that agents of two of the two participating aspirants were absent during the commencement of the exercise, as reported by Vanguard.
