Former PDP Governorship Candidate Defects To APC

Muhammad Umar Nasko, a former Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State and received by the gubernatorial candidate of the Party, Umaru Mohammed Bago

The APC National Zonal Chairman North Central, Muazu Bawa, State Chairman, Haliru Zakari Jikantoro, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Ibrahim Balarabe were among many party stalwarts and supporters at the brief event in the residence of Umar Nasko in Minna.

Nasko promised to work assiduously for the victory of APC in the Governorship and State Assembly elections. 

Nasko was the Governorship candidate of PDP in 2015 and 2019 elections respectively. 

The former PDP stalwart in Niger State had expressed his interest to contest for the Niger North Senatorial seat, but withdrew his ambition immediately the present Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello of the APC declared his intention for the same position.

It is believed that joining the APC at a time when the Governorship and State Assembly elections is around the corner will be a boost to the ruling party.
