Dimeji Bankole a former speaker of the House of Representatives is set to marry Aisha Shinkakfi the daughter of Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu on Friday.
Making this disclosure in a statement on Tuesday, the Family of the ex-speaker said that the marriage will put an end to rumours surrounding his matrimonial intentions since he got divorced in 2017.

In the statement, Bankole's family revealed that an introduction ceremony had already taken place some weeks back in accordance with Islamic traditions.
“At the introduction ceremony, the Governor of Sokoto State and Bankole’s successor as Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, led the groom’s family to the bride’s family home to seek her hand in marriage.
“Friday’s event will be the culmination of a courtship that both families had kept very discreet. Political observers, however, note that the marriage would appear to straddle Nigeria’s great political divide, as Bagudu is the Chairman of the APC Governors Forum, while Tambuwal is the National Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum,” the statement read.
Bankole's family further revealed that the wedding will not be a loud one as a result of the Federal government protocol on COVID-19.
Bankole served as the speaker of the House of Representatives between 2007 and 2011.
