Portuguese manager, Nuno Espirito Santo who led Wolverhampton Wanderers back into the Premier League now leads the race for Tottenham job as the club continues to search for a top-class coach.

Espirito was dismissed from Wolves after the completion of the 2020-21 season since he helped the club back to the top of the English football division in the 2017-18 season.

He had turned the West Midland club into a formidable team -- with European qualification in the 2018-19 season after finishing 7th on the table.

Tottenham talks with former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso ended with no agreement.

Since the dismissal of Mourinho, Ryan Mason has been the Interim manager at Spurs as they couldn't reach an agreement with any coach including Antonio Conte.

Nuno 47, is also linked to jobs at Everton since the departure of Carlo Ancelotti (who rejoined Real Madrid) or could replace Roy Hodgson at Crystal Palace, though former Borussia Dortmund, Lucien Favre is also suggested to be interested in the job.
