It was learnt that the gesture is also to appreciate Pastor Dare's great impact on the development of the church's youth department. The act started with Pastor Leke Adeboye, another son of Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye.
According to him, it is a tradition that anytime they lose a fallen hero as a youth, members shave off their hair and clean up. Pastor Leke who shared a video of himself at the barber's shop on his Instagram page on Saturday, May 8, explained that the move is a sign of honour.

This 'simple' act certainly did not go well with some 'bible scholars', others as they took to social media comment sections to react to the 'going bald' honorary move. While some called it an act of paganism, others said the deceased was never a fan of having a bald head.
Of the several controversial responses, a Facebook users Abiodun Famuyiwa commented with a scripture from the holy bible warning against a baldness in honour of the dead.
Famuyiwa said; “They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.” — Leviticus 21:5 (KJV).
Ejimenkeonye Emeka said; "I thought Bible asked Christians not to cut part of their body for the Dead"
Another, identified as Paul Imeh Green said that the late Pastor Dare was a lover of afro hair and, not a bald head.
"You don't honour someone who doesn't keep bald head with a bald head, the late pastor was a lover of afro hair". Paul said.
Ishola Olamide criticised Leke Adeboye especially for coming on line to honour his brother with bald head.
"I don't know how we think in this country, we are so black to the extent some people brain is dark as well (sic). Your brother died and you come up online telling us you want to shave your hair to honour him, You can do that without coming up on social media if truly you have respect for the death of your brother". Ishola Olamide said.
"But for some people to think straight and correct the wrongful. They will start attacking who says the fact, while they have been brainstorm. Do you know how many people lost their lives in this country, through Boko haram, banditry, armed robber etc? Because the son of recognising man died, we should start thinking upside down, I don't know when some people will have a sense in this country (sic)".
What do you think about this thoughts? Should people be criticized for mourning their dead? Lets have your comments below.
