Foundation Urges LASG To Provide Coding Facilities

The Oluwasegun Idowu Foundation has requested the Lagos State Government to build coding facilities in Local Government Areas across the state.

The founder of the Foundation, Oluwasegun Idowu, made this request known while speaking at the graduation of 120 students who had just been trained in coding, noting that students now need the knowledge of technology.

Idowu said that of the 457 students who applied to be trained at Prime Foster Schools, Obalende, Lagos, only120 students passed the exams and received the training.

He added that the training was an opportunity to the less-privileged students who could not afford to be trained in schools where coding is taught.

“I am a politician. We know the future is technology.

"Today, the children have learned how to develop apps, develop websites,  and they have been taught coding, language programming instruction.

"We discovered that the eight richest people in the world are from tech, so we felt why not  introduce children to technology.

"They can become web developers and others if they have these skills.

“Government should have coding facilities in every Local Government Area in Lagos.“

Director of school, Foster Prime Schools, Patrick Foster said, “This is the first time we are hosting people outside the school.

"At Foster Prime Schools, we believe that learning should be fun when children can easily remember what they are thought against the conventional style of learning.”

Idowu is currently running for a Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikoyi/Obalende Local Council Development Area.
