Movies serve as the much-needed escape from the hectic realities of life and we tend to see ourselves in some of the characters that we see onscreen.
Their entertainment value cannot be overemphasized, and for this reason and many more, we have made a shortlist of some of the films now available and where fans can see them.
JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH
Starring the talented duo of Daniel Kaluuya and LaKeith Stanfield, Judas and the Black Messiah is a film that movie buffs will not want to miss.
Going back in time to shed some light on the story of how Black Panther leader Fred Hampton (Kaluuya) was betrayed by someone from his own ranks, this movie is award material and comes highly recommended.
Fans can see it in Silverbird Cinemas (for a reduced price of N1,500) nationwide at 2.05 pm. It is also available for streaming on HBO Max.
OMO GHETTO: THE SAGA
Funke Akindele hardly disappoints and given the box office record of Omo Ghetto: The Saga (it is now the most successful movie in the history of Nollywood), it can be said that this is more than double the price of admission.
Omo Ghetto: The Saga sees Akindele's character drawn back into the life of crime that she was taken away from. This time, she must fight to survive as enemies continue to close in from every angle.
The film is showing in cinemas nationwide. At Silverbird Cinemas, the showtime for weekends is 12 pm, 2.50 pm, 5.30 pm, and 8.15 pm. The price is N1,500.
NAMASTE WAHALA
Still, in the season of love, folks can watch Namaste Wahala on Netflix this weekend. It is a love story worth seeing with inter-racial romance thrown in the mix.
Featuring the likes of Nollywood veterans Richard Mofe-Damijo and Joke Silva, the film centres on a couple (a Nigerian lady and an Indian man) whose love faces opposition from their families.

It may not be in the ranks of Titanic but Namaste Wahala sure entertains, with the added blend of humour (thanks to the likes of Broda Shaggi and others).
THE WAR WITH GRANDPA
If you are looking to laugh away your sorrows and get lost in a family fun movie, Robert DeNiro's The War with Grandpa is just the thing you need.
Starring the legendary Hollywood actor as a grumpy grandpa who wages 'war' on his little grandson, The War with Grandpa is a guaranteed rib-cracker for everyone.
The showtime for the film at Silverbird Cinemas during the weekends is 10.20 am.
