Four armed soldiers have been killed by gunmen in Mali with over a dozen others, seriously injured in the attack.
The attack happened on Wednesday when gunmen ambushed the soldiers' patrol bus near the town of Nara, south of the border with Mauritania.
The country's army released a statement on Thursday, stating that;
“A unit in the Nara area was the target of a complex attack combining improvised explosive devices and heavy weapons by suspected armed gunmen. We lost four of ours in he attack."
Thousands of people across the country have died and about two millio displaced by conflicts that have rocked the country for long.
Mali has been a target of armed uprising which began in the year 2012. Despite Frances intervening in 2013, the conflict has spread and continued across the country.
No terror group has claimed responsibility for the ambush.
