Wendie Renard
Renard, who is the team's iconic captain and a 142-times capped player, claims that the current set-up is bad for her mental health and that she will not be participating in the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia.
Diani and Katoto followed suit, with Diani announcing that she would suspend her engagement with the national team until significant changes are made. Katoto stated that she no longer supports the management of the France team or its values.
The resignations come amidst recent controversy in French football, including the suspension of the president of the French football federation, Noel Le Graet, since January and allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women.
France is coached by Corinne Diacre, who took over the team in 2017 and is under contract until 2024.
