FRCN Inaugurates 5kw Digital Transmitter At Horizon FM, Duts

The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) has inaugurated a 5Kw digital transmitter at Horizon FM, Dutse, General Manager, Dr. Musa Idris, has revealed.

Idris said the new transmitter would boost the quality and reach of transmission of the station, assuring listeners of better broadcast services.

He lauded the management of the FRCN, particularly the Director-General, Dr. Mansur Liman for their commitment towards the successful installation of the transmitter at the station.

He said the gesture would boost the morale of the staff of the station and enhance its operations.

The Manager highlighted some challenges facing the station to include the lack of a recording studio and a digital consul at its live studio.

Idris, however, expressed optimism that more equipment will be provided to the station to make its operations fully digitised.

In his remark, Cliff Adikwe, representative of the consulting firm, said that his company would train the station’s engineers on how to operate and maintain the new transmitter.

Adikwe said that with adequate provision of a cooling system, the transmitter has the capacity to run for 24 hours and last for ten years.
