#FreeDawisu: Security Operatives Allegedly Arrest Ganduje’s Aide For Criticizing APC, Buhari

The State Security Service (SSS) has reportedly arrested Salihu Tanko Yakasai popularly known as Dawisu the special adviser to the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, on Media, for criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling APC.

Dawisu had recently criticized the Buhari and APC over the latest abduction in Zamfara and the poor method of handling security issues, specifically the cycle of mass abductions.

According to reports circulating in the online media space, Mr Yakasai was taken to Abuja from Kano office of the service and his family allegedly confirmed Dawisu's arrest when he couldn’t make it home last night.

“That Dawisu, a prominent and vocal government official was perceived as a “threat” when the North is being overrun by terrorists from Adamawa to Zamfara, underlines our fear that the Buhari regime prioritizes regime security over national security.

“There’s absolutely no justification for such method, which is exactly how we lost the Dadiyatas of this country.

“The scarce resources that ought to have been disbursed for tackling burning national issues like this frighteningly humanized banditry has unfortunately been wasted in abducting Dawisu in Kano and transporting him to Abuja. For what, I ask?

What’s this madness for God’s sake? To intimidate government critics? #FreeDawisu,” Mr Kadanda wrote on Facebook.

State Security Service Denies Arresting Dawisu

Meanwhile, the State Security Service (SSS) has denied arresting Dawisu.

The Kano State Director of SSS, Muhammad Alhassan, when contacted, denied the reports, insisting that secret police never even invited the media aide, let alone arrest.

Alhassan said: “We have not arrested or even invited Salihu. Don’t forget he is our friend, and sometimes he advises us on issues of security in Kano.”
