In order to create a local market and patronage for French fries and also boost the economy of the state, an indigenous company involved in French fries production, Belfrites, has launched in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State
A statement by the Chief Executive Officer, Belfrites, Prince Akitoye, said the company, which is a subsidiary of Berlag Investment Nigeria Limited, is into the production of French fries and was established as part of his efforts to contribute to the nation’s quest for the viable economy by discouraging importation and providing jobs opportunities for the unemployed.
“The idea of producing French fries here in Nigeria was conceived to boost the local economy of the country and also discourage the importation of French fries from Belgium, Netherlands and some other neighbouring countries,” Akitoye said.
Akintoye also said that the products from the company are affordable and 100 per cent natural.
