Friends of Sokoto State governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, have gifted him the N40 million 2023 presidential form under the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The group was led by Aree Olumiyiwa Akinboro (SAN).

The national organising secretary of the PDP, Hon. Bature said due process has been followed in obtaining the form.

The leader of the group, Aree Olumiyiwa Akinboro (SAN) stated that the group was made up of concerned Nigerians who believe Tambuwal is the only person that would unite the country.

He added that the country is in a worrying state that needs Tambuwal's hands while noting that their friendship goes back to 30 years, and their belief in him unshakable.

"He’s humble, focused, and intelligent. People ask if he has the money to pursue this ambition. That is why we are here to buy this form for him.

"He’s not aware but we as professional and apolitical, we want him to lead."

He further stated that the issue of zoning should only come after the PDP has presented its best candidate.

Akinboro added that Tambuwal is the only person with the heart for every Nigerian irrespective of ethnic affiliation.

“Just look at us, we have Yoruba, Igbo, Ibibio, and we are saying, PDP, put your best foot forward," he added.

He added that the group believes that the PDP has the best chance of winning the 2023 presidential race so long as Tambuwal is presented as the flag bearer of the party.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) had declared open the sales of nomination and expression of interest form and already it has been receiving patronage.
