The Federal Road Safe Corps (FRSC) in Kaduna state has confirmed an accident on the Kaduna-Zaria Highway which led to two deaths.
The accident also left 28 people injured and currently receiving medical attention.
The confirmation was made by the Acting Sector Commander in the state, Garba Lawal.
Lawal who described the accident as fatal said it involved a tanker and vehicle of the Katsina State Transportation Authority (KSTA).
He said the occurred close to Birnin Yero village on the highway.
According to Lawal: “Two people died while 28 others sustained various degrees of injuries.
"We suspect that the driver of the KSTA bus made a wrong overtake which made him lose control and resulted in the fatal accident."
He further noted the need for drivers to drive carefully and avoid overtaking at high speed while concentrating on their vehicle control.
