FRSC reports fatal accident on Gbongan-Ibadan expressway in

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Osun Command, reports that two people died in an accident on the Gbongan-Ibadan expressway in Osogbo.

Medinat Akanbi, Acting Sector Commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Osogbo on Saturday that the victims were a commercial motorcycle rider and his passenger.

She stated that a Sports Utility Vehicle with the Abuja number plate KUJ 417 DH collided head-on with a commercial motorcycle with the number plate SGB 708 UH, killing both people.

“The accident occurred around Mobil filling station when a Toyota Jeep ran over a motorcyclist riding against traffic rules.

“The rider and his passenger lost their lives on-the-spot, while the driver of the Toyota Jeep and his partner were seriously injured and rushed to an undisclosed hospital,” she said.

She stated that the deceased's remains had been deposited at the morgue of the University of Osun Teaching Hospital in Osogbo.

Akanbi reminded motorists to always follow safety regulations.
