Fubara moves to investigate Wike’s administration

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, on Monday, constituted a panel of inquiry to examine the administrations of former governors, including his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Fubara made this announcement shortly after senior jurist Dagogo Iboroma assumed office as the new Rivers' attorney-general and commissioner for justice.

He emphasized that the primary task of the newly appointed attorney-general would be to investigate the activities of past governors in the state, a decision he asserted would not be reversed.

“Why are we bringing you at this very critical time? You have a big task. We will be setting up a judicial panel of inquiry to investigate the affairs of governance,” Fubara said on Monday. “So, brace up; I am not going back on it.”

Allnews.ng reports that Fubara emerged as the gubernatorial candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and won the 2023 elections with the support of Wike.

However, their relationship soured afterward, leading to each using their allies in the state parliament to undermine the other, including attempts to impeach Fubara.
