Fuel Price Hike: PDP Rejects The Recent Increase In Fuel Pri

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rejected the recent increase in fuel price and electricity tariff by President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.

Rejecting the increase in a statement via the party's official twitter page on Wednesday, the party challenged the president Buhari led administration to publish the parameter with which it arrived at the increase of fuel price.

According to the PDP, the recent increase showed the punishment that Nigerians are being subjected to under the ruling party.

“The @OfficialPDPNig vehemently rejects the fresh increase in the price of fuel to N151 per liter and electricity tariff to N66 per kwh under the @OfficialAPCNg.

“Our party further challenges the @OfficialAPCNg-led Federal Government to publish details of its sleazy and over-bloated oil subsidy regime, including the involvement of APC interests in the claimed under-recovery for market, the appropriate price template for domestic pump price in Nigeria ought not to be above N100 per litre.

“Our party challenges the @OfficialAPCNg and the @MBuhari administration to publish the parameters with which it arrived at the increase of fuel price to N151 per liter given that with the prevailing values in the international,” tweets by PDP read.

Allnews had earlier reported that the  Pipeline and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) announced an increase in the price of petrol from N143.80 per litre to N151.56 per litre.

Following the announcement, the ruling party APC, was quick to point accusing fingers on PDP, asking the party to return funds they looted in the past.
