Ayuba Wabba, the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has revealed that the union will go ahead with its planned industrial action if its demands were not met before Sunday night, the expiration of the ultimatum it issued.
Making this announcement after a meeting with the speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, Wabba revealed that all unions affiliated with the union have been mobilized and were ready for the strike action.

According to the union president, the hike in electricity tariff and fuel price had eroded the purchasing capacity of the Nigerian worker.
Further noting that the initial plan was to make sure that the electricity tariff until meters were provided to Nigerians, Wabba revealed that there was a valid court judgment nullifying the electricity tariff.
The union leader further revealed that the injunction of the National Industrial Court asking NLC to stop its planned strike held no waters.
