Fuel Subsidy: Long Queues Disappearing From Filling Stations In Osun

Fuel Subsidy: Long Queues Disappearing From Filling Stations

Long queues have gradually disappeared from fuel stations within Osogbo town as of Thursday morning.

AllNews Nigeria has observed that the same fuel stations were selling Premium Motor Spirit, PMS at N500 per litre which is the adjusted price by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

Vehicles could also be observed driving in and out of these fuel stations.

A fuel attendant at Matrix Oil, who preferred anonymity stated that it was the decision of both management and petroleum marketers to cap the pump price at N500 per litre.

"Consumers have been receptive. They understand that the issue has gone beyond us but now rests with those in authority.

"If they review the fuel subsidy regime again. The pump price may go up or down depending on where the pendulum swings."

A vehicle owner, Abraham Adekunle revealed that though the cost was up by more than 100 per cent, he is content to drive into the fuel station and buy without any hitch.

"My brother in as much as the product is available. Why am I disturbing myself? I will look for the money and buy as much as I want."

The cost of commuting has also soared as a commercial motorcycle trip of N300 has increased to N500 and minibus drops have increased to between N200 to N150 as against the N100 fare on Monday.
