Fulham vs Arsenal: Preview, Team News, Kick-Off Time, Where

The 2020-21 English Premier League (EPL) season begins on Saturday with a match between London teams - Fulham and Arsenal at Craven Cottage, AllNews reports.

Fulham earned promotion, after finishing on 4th position in the Championship last season, while the Gunners ended in 8th place and will hope for a better campaign.

The last edition of this London derby was on the first day of 2019 and finished in a comprehensive 4:1 victory for Arsenal. The Emirates club won both meetings with Fulham that season with a combined goal difference of 9:2.

Fulham have lost each of the last five Head-to-head clashes and are without a win in six. Three of the last five encounters produced over 2,5 goals, and each of the same also witnessed goals at both ends, as Arsenal not allowing more than one in their net and managed to keep two clean sheets.

Fulham - London’s oldest football club - have really not been involved in transfer activity in the close season. Their main signing thus far is world cup winner, Alphonse Areola.

The French keeper, 27, who spent last season providing back-up for Real Madrid No1 Thibaut Courtois, joins on a season-long loan from Pars Saint-Germain (PSG).

Central midfielder, Stefan Johansen is currently suffering from an ankle/foot injury and appears to be the only Fulham player with a problem, but trust AllNews to update you as soon as possible.

Head Coach, Mikel Arteta has brought in some exciting new talents ahead of the new campaign, however, and this clash at Craven Cottage could present a chance for some of them to make their competitive debuts.

Arguably the biggest selection call for Arteta to make is in goal, where Emiliano Martinez is battling with Bernd Leno to become the first-choice keeper.

After impressing at the end of last season and doing well against Liverpool in the recent Community Shield, the shirt is very much Martinez's to lose.

An untimely neck injury sustained by David Luiz in training means that Rob Holding may have to be used as part of Arteta's now-favoured back five, with debutant William Saliba and the versatile Kieran Tierney either side.

Gabriel Magalhaes is another option, but he has barely started training since joining from Lille earlier this month.

Hector Bellerin seems certain to start at right wing-back, despite persistent links with a move to PSG. For Ainsley Maitland-Niles, the Englishman should get the nod over Bukayo Saka on the opposite flank.

Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos have formed a solid holding-midfield partnership and, with the latter having rejoined on loan, they will get the chance to strengthen their understanding.

Further forward, Eddie Nketiah was in great form for England Under-21s during the international break and appears to have done enough to start through the middle, with captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and record signing Nicolas Pepe on the left and right respectively.

Aubameyang has been directly involved in 16 goals in 13 Premier League appearances against newly-promoted opponents, scoring three goals and assisting one in two games against Fulham in 2018-19.
