The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has released the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) at State level for Fourth Quarter and Full Year 2019. In the publication seen by AllNews, it was disclosed that 20.92% year on year growth was recorded after combined states' Internally Generated Revenue hit N1.33 trillion in 2019.
Two years ago, in 2018, the combined internally generated revenue of the 36 states and FCT Abuja, was N1.17 trillion, but this figure increased by 20.92% year on year to peak at N1.33 trillion last year, the NBS publication showed. Meanwhile, for the fourth quarter of 2019, the growth recorded in the internally generated revenue for all states was 17.71% quarter on quarter.
The third quarter of 2019 had recorded N294.11 billion, but when compared to the earnings in Q4 2019, the internally generated revenue took an upward swing hitting N346.20 billion; this represents a 17.71% growth quarter on quarter for the 36 states and FCT Abuja combined.
Top-grossing States For IGR
Individually, Lagos leads the pack of highest earners after posting N398.73 billion for Internally Generated Revenue, while Rivers State came close with N140.40 billion. Meanwhile, Taraba State recorded the least internally generated revenue after recording N6.5 billion.
