The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu has stated that mentioning Nollywood star Funke Akindele's name in his presence is an insult.
Tinubu made the remark during a meeting with APC supporters at the Lagos APC secretariat on Acme Road in Ogba on Wednesday for the party’s caucus meeting.
Akindele is the running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) guber candidate in Lagos State, Olajide Adediran (a.k.a. Jandor) and it is no secret that APC's Babajide Sanwo-Olu has Tinubu's backing.
While singing a song, Tinubu's supporters compared the actress to an ant in the presence of the former governor.
“…Who is Funke Akindele? (she is) an ant in the presence of the father of Lagos (Tinubu)", they reportedly sang in Yoruba.
Responding, Tinubu said: “Don’t even behave as if you remember that name.
“It is a big insult, it is an abuse. A fowl wants to enter a house, it is bending down, how tall is it in the first place?”
