Gambaryan: FG denies reports of poor treatment of Binance ex

The Federal Government has denied claims that Binance Executive Tigran Gambaryan is being held in poor prison conditions and that his health is deteriorating.

In an official statement, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris dismissed the allegations as false and urged the public to disregard them.

"Mr Gambaryan is being lawfully detained and has access to quality medical care whenever needed," Idris stated.

He further emphasized that Gambaryan has full access to consular services from his home government, ensuring that his rights are fully protected.

"The Federal Government will not jeopardize his fundamental rights to a fair trial or to quality healthcare during his detention," the Minister assured. He clarified that Gambaryan's detention is ordered by the court, and only the court has the authority to modify the terms of his detention or direct his release.

Idris also highlighted that Nigeria is adhering strictly to legal and diplomatic standards in its ongoing legal actions against Binance, a pursuit echoed by several other countries globally.

"This process reflects Nigeria's commitment to justice and the integrity of its judicial system," the statement continued.

"Mr Gambaryan is receiving fair treatment, and his legal and human rights are safeguarded throughout the judicial proceedings."

The government's stance underscores its dedication to maintaining lawful processes and ensuring that all individuals in custody, including high-profile detainees, are treated with respect and fairness.
