Ganduje's Aide Calls For Arrest Of Catholic Bishop Over Verb

Media Aide to the Abdullahi Ganduje, the Governor Of Kano state, Salihu Tanko Yakasai has called for the arrest and prosecution of Godfrey Igwebuike Onah, a catholic bishop 'for using the place of worship to trigger violence'.

Yakasai who made this call on Monday in reaction to the sermon of the Catholic Bishop where he said that there was discrimination in the way security cases in the North and South were being handled, said the cleric 'needed to be used as a scapegoat'.

In the viral video, the cleric further said that mosques were being built on a daily basis in the east while it was very difficult to get land to build churches in some states in the northern region of the country.

Calling for the arrest of the clergyman, Yakasai said the arrest of the catholic bishop will be a good example to others.

“This will be a good scapegoat for security operatives to make example of. You CANNOT use place of worship be it Mosque or a Church and incite violence particularly that of religion in a country like ours, and then get away with it. I call for the arrest & prosecution of this man,” he tweeted.

It will be recalled that Yakasai was recently suspended by Ganduje over the comments he made on President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was recently re-appointed by the Kano state governor to continue his role as the governor's media aide.
