Nigerian gay rights activist Bisi Alimi says same-gender love is real, as he celebrates 4 years wedding anniversary with his husband Anthony Davis.
AllNews reports that Alimi and Davis tied the knot in the United States in 2016.
In a tweet on Thursday, the gay rights activist said same-gender marriage is valid, just as he maintained that Nigeria queer lives matter.
45-year-old Alimi wrote “Just want to say that my husband and I have been married for 4 years today. Same-gender love is real. Same-gender marriage is valid. Love is beautiful. Love is Love. Nigeria queer lives matter,” he wrote.

Alimi is also a public speaker; blog writer and HIV/LGBT advocate who gained international attention when he became the first Nigerian to come out of the closet on television.
His decision to publicly disclose that he is gay generated both admiration and death threats and he was Consequently, disowned by his family and most of his friends.
He got married to his spouse, Anthony Davis in 2016.
