Gbolahan Yishawu Mourns Late Senator Bayo Osinowo

A member of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Gbolahan Yishawu, commiserates with the family of late Lagos state Senator, Bayo Osinowo stating that he left a big vacuum in the state.

Yishawu in a statement in Lagos said Osinowo's death was very painful and shocking but the great legacies would live on.

He said, “This is a loss to our great party, Lagos East Senatorial District, Lagos State and indeed the entire nation.

“It is a loss to me personally too; this came to me as a rude shock, when I heard it. He has left a vacuum but I know his legacy lives on. May Almighty Allah forgives him and grants him Aljanah Firdaus,’’ Yishawu said.

He also extended his condolence to the deceased family, the National Leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and the entire people of Lagos East Senatorial District praying to God to grant them all the heart to bear the loss.

AllNews on Monday reported that Osinowo died of complications from COVID-19 at the age of 64. 

Adebayo Sikiru Osinowo, born November 28, 1955, also known as Pepperito, is a Nigerian businessman and politician. 

Osinowo began his political life in the second republic serving as a youth Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). 

Osinowo was a four times honorable in the Lagos State house of assembly. Osinowo contested for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly for Kosofe constituency and won.

On February 23, 2019, Lagos East Senatorial District election, he was elected Senator, representing the Lagos East Senatorial District at the Nigerian National Assembly.

He was subsequently appointed as the Chairman, Senate Committee on Industries.
