General Motors Reveals All-electric Chevrolet Bolt EUV, Redesigned Bolt EV

General Motors has taken another step toward its zero-emissions future.

The Detroit-based company, Chevrolet, has revealed a new, All-electric Bolt Electric Utility Vehicle,(EUV) and its newly redesigned Bolt Electric Vehicle (EV), on Sunday. 

The new Chevrolet Bolt EUV is designed to bring the best of the Chevy Bolt, first released in 2017, but in a taller and longer SUV-like proportion, GM executives said.

The two vehicles are not hard to differentiate on the outside. The EUV is about 6 inches longer than the Bolt EV and has a “modern, muscular design, a roomier interior and ample rear legroom.

The Bolt EUV features a “distinctive front-end with a sculpted grille,” standard LED headlamps, and an upscale interior, GM executives said.

The Bolt EV is a bit more efficient than the larger EUV, it covers 259 miles of range, on a full charge and can take you every day, a nine-mile advantage over the EUV’s 250.

They use the same 65W, 288-cell lithium-ion battery pack, and they are propelled using the same single front 200 HP (150kW), 266 lb-ft of torque, electric motor.

Both Vehicles have three easy ways to charge; standard level 1(n120-Volt portable charge cord), available level 2 ( 240- volt charging unit) and available (DC Fast Charging).

The Bolt EUV offers its passengers a longer wheelbase, additional head space and higher ride height. It is also the first Chevy vehicle to offer a true hands-free driving assistance feature for compatible roads. Utilizing advanced technologies like LiDAR mapping, this feature offers the ease and convenience of hands-free driving, making mundane commutes a thing of the past.

Working in tandem with Adaptive Cruise Control, available Super Cruise uses precise, real-time positioning, cameras, sensors and LiDAR map data to help detect each curve in the road, making your long drives more comfortable. If equipped, Bolt EUV includes three years of Super Cruise connectivity to support this functionality, after which a paid plan is required.

It has a sculpted exterior with LED lighting and sequential turn signals are sure to draw you in. Inside you’ll find a premium interior with a spacious cabin and comfortable seating for up to five. An available panoramic sunroof, as well as heated and ventilated front seats, help provide the ultimate in class and comfort.
