Germany has acknowledged an increase in spying by Iranian agents on exiled Iranians living in Germany.
It said it saw the increase since the start of the mass protests that began last year.
It said; "Nationwide unrest triggered by the death of Mahsa Amini detained by Iranian morality police last year has led to increasing indications of possible spying on opposition events and individuals in Germany."
It said the country’s domestic intelligence service had identified 160 individuals with links to Germany as well as the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in police detention after she was arrested for breaking the Islamic Republic’s strict rules on women’s dressing.
Following the aftermath, the protests that erupted turned into the biggest protests the country has faced in years.
