Germany's Foreign Minister Harps On Strategic Importance Of

Amid the ever-changing geopolitical landscape, Germany's Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock seeks to shed light on the critical nature of the relationship between the European Union and Turkey.

Recognising the challenges and complexities that have marked the bilateral ties, Baerbock called for a strategic reevaluation of the engagement between these two significant regional actors.

At the heart of Baerbock's remarks was the recognition that while Turkey is in need of urgent reforms, it should not be dismissed as a partner for the EU.

On the contrary, Baerbock emphasized that Turkey’s geographical location and its influence in the region make it a pivotal ally for the European Union.

She underscored the importance of continuing the dialogue and finding avenues for closer cooperation despite the current roadblocks in the accession process.
