Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has not been sacked, AllNews Nigeria reports.
The CBN governor is currently a trending topic on Twitter as there are unsubstantiated reports that he has been removed from his position.
Reacting to the reports, the Head of Corporate Communications of the Central Bank, Osita Nwanisiobi, has stated that the purported sack of the Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, is not true.
Osita stated categorically that he is not aware of any sack of the CBN Governor.
Additionally, AllNews Nigeria further verified that the CBN governor is in Davos, Switzerland on official assignment.
