Gombe Governor Empowers Youths With 1,000 Keke Napep

The governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has empowered youths in the state with 1000 tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep.

The governor said the youths were given the Keke Napep as a loan.

He further stated that empowerment will ensure the reduction of unemployed youths in the state.

Yahaya explained that the empowerment was a result of the partnership between the government and tricycle manufacturing company, SIMBATVS.

The governor further reiterated his commitment to reducing the unemployment rate in the state.

He noted that his administration has engaged 3,000 development facilitators, 27,000 youths to plant a 4million trees in the state and 500 youths were also recruited into the Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps (GOSTEC).

He further revealed that his administration would request SIMBA TVS to establish its manufacturing plant in the state upon completion of the proposed Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Keke NAPEP Riders Association, Muhammad Abdullahi Sarki expressed satisfaction with the gesture.

He added that the governor has exceeded the number of Keke Napep the association requested by doubling it.

While calling on the beneficiaries to utilize the opportunity, he said the governor has done his part and should be appreciated.
