The Gombe State Transition Management Committee, constituted by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has held an interactive meeting with all permanent secretaries in the state.
The meeting which was held on Wednesday included all the overseeing directors of various ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the state.
The Chairman of the committee, Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, said the objective of the meeting was to provide an overview of the committee's responsibilities and duties, as well as to discuss the roles and responsibilities expected of the permanent secretaries during the transition period.
Addressing the attendees, Daudu emphasized the importance of a smooth and effective transition from the previous administration to the new administration which was sworn in on May 29.
He highlighted the need for the permanent secretaries to put forth their best efforts in their dual roles as acting chief executives and accounting officers of the MDAs.
He urged them to ensure that government business continues without disruption.
Daudu added that one of the key points discussed during the meeting was the handover reports submitted by various MDAs.
He said the committee identified areas where improvements were needed and stressed the importance of resubmitting robust and detailed reports.
He explained that the aim was to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the challenges facing each MDA and to address them effectively.
He further assured the permanent secretaries of the committee's commitment to addressing the challenges faced by their respective MDAs.
Daudu made this known in a statement he personally signed and conveyed by Ismaila Uba Misilli, spokesperson to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
According to the statement, the Committee chairman called for their continuous cooperation throughout the transition period, recognizing the crucial role they play in facilitating a smooth transfer of power and maintaining the momentum of government operations.
