Gombe, Yobe governors, others storm Bayelsa for APC grand ra

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and his Yobe State counterpart, Mai Mala Buni among others, have stormed Bayelsa state for the All Progressives Congress (APC) grand campaign rally.

Other prominent personalities who left Abuja on Wednesday for the rally included Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje among others.

Governor Yahaya who is the Chairman of the Northern Governors' Forum is also the Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council for Bayelsa State Governorship Election.

Leading the campaign ahead of the November 11 Governorship Election in the State, Governor Yahaya's objective is to ensure the success of the APC and its candidate, Timipreye Sylva in the election.

Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor's spokesperson, made this known in a statement on Wednesday.

According to Misilli, the rally is expected to draw attention and drum support from the electorate, for Sylva and APC's victory.

The Governor had recently met with critical stakeholders, igniting the spirit of party members and allaying their concerns about the earlier court judgment against the party’s governorship candidate.

The Apeal Court however upturned that judgment and declared Sylva duly qualified to contest the November 11 election.

During his encounter with the stakeholders, Governor Yahaya said: "We'll emerge stronger from this temporary legal setback.

"Don't slow down on the campaigns. Take the message to the nooks, crannies and the creeks.

"We are here to show solidarity with you and to assure you that we are resolute in our commitment to deliver Sylva.

"The President is with you in this journey, the national leadership of the party is with you, and all of us stand by you in this fight to deliver APC and Timipreye Sylva.

"We will triumph in Bayelsa on the 11th of November by the grace of God."
