Google Unveils New Package Tracking Application

Google Unveils New Package Tracking Application

Google has unveiled a brand-new Gmail function for package tracking that intelligently condenses correspondence from sellers and delivery companies into easily readable package tracking information.

With a fast link to track a product, Google has long summarised the email's seller and product information in a box below the subject line. As noted by 9to5Google, this information panel has now undergone significant improvement.

It has Material You dynamic theming components, quick connections to order and parcel tracking information, and a three-stage progress bar displaying the order's status (placed, shipped, and delivered).

The product name and anticipated arrival date are displayed in green in the card title. In the inbox list view, we can also see the latter beneath the email subject line.

You should notice a relevant prompt appear in the app as the new UI is already rolling out. But if you're not seeing it, you may enable it right now by following a few simple steps:

On your Android device, launch the Gmail app.

The navigation drawer will open when you tap the hamburger menu in the top left corner.

Choose Settings by scrolling to the bottom.

Tap on your email address.

In the General section, scroll down and turn on the Package tracking option.

Although a similar solution for Gmail's web interface is in the works, this feature is already available to Android and iOS users.

The new addition makes Gmail marginally more practical for the typical user and guarantees that new features adhere to Google's Material You design principles.
