Google Updates Travel To Provide Users More Thorough Search Experience

Google Travel has received new upgrades to assist passengers in obtaining more detailed information and ideas about their trip destinations.

VP of Travel Products at Google, Richard Holden said: "Whether you have a certain destination in mind or are just daydreaming about a vacation, Google provides tools to help you become inspired and investigate your options so you can book with ease when the time comes."

Google's latest update for Travel focuses on making it as simple as possible for travelers to find relevant information about their trips.

One of them is Google Flights' new ability to track pricing.

Previously, it could only track prices between two sites for specified dates.

Users' ability to find the best bargain was hampered as a result of this.

Google is now changing that by extending the duration of its pricing monitoring capacity from three to six months.

During this time, Google will compare flight costs and send an email to travelers if it finds offers that are less expensive than regular flights.

The Explore tool will also get a new feature called "Explore Nearby," which will appear as a pink dot in the default view.

Travelers can get information on areas they can drive to in a few hours by tapping the dot.

Selecting a specific place in the Explore Nearby tool will reveal further information such as typical hotel costs and weather.

Since Google added additional interest layers to the map, travelers can still locate the best spot to visit or stay if they are new to the places listed on it.

Hotel rates and weather aren't the only things they'll see with this.

It will also provide travelers with information on where to eat, shop, and see sights.

Travelers may even select "Where to Stay" from the drop-down menu. for the best neighborhood guide under the search filters.

Google, on the other hand, has added a new feature to Travel that allows travelers to input the position of a certain landmark or address in the hotel or vacation rental search field, making their journeys easier when looking for a specific place.

Then, to give travelers a better picture of where they are and how close they are to their goal, travelers may toggle to display houses within a 15 or 30-minute walk or drive.

Finally, Travel now allows travelers to bookmark their favorite properties. Simply hit the bookmark icon on any hotel or vacation rental, and the location will be saved for future reference if they decide to return.

Saved items can be found in the Saved tab on mobile devices and the right-hand panel on desktop computers.
