Gordon, Ashby Available For Premier League Debut With Newcastle - Eddie Howe

New signings Anthony Gordon and Harrison Ashby will be available for their Premier League Debut, says Newcastle gaffer Eddie Howe.

Gordon departed Everton for Newcastle after both clubs reached an agreement on an initial fee of £40m plus add-ons that could see the deal rise to £45m in total, while Ashby joined the Magpies from West Ham for an undisclosed fee on Deadline Day.

Speaking as his side prepare to welcome West Ham on Saturday, Howe declared:

"Both are available and have trained well.

"They've done a couple of individual sessions around the game and trained with the group yesterday."

The Newcastle boss added that he is positive that Gordon will excel in the colours of the Magpies having thrived at Everton.

"He [Gordon] has experienced [white hot atmospheres] in his career.

"Goodison last year. He’s thrived in that environment.

"I think he will thrive in this one. It was a brilliant reception our supporters gave him and he’ll need that after a difficult last few months.

'For him to feel good, the release of pressure will be really positive for us," he added.
